Vietnam-based foodtech startup Kamereo has successfully raised $2.8 million in a Series B funding round, led by Japan's Sumitomo Corporation. This milestone follows a $2.1 million pre-Series B funding round earlier this year, bringing Kamereo's total fundraising in 2024 to nearly $5 million.

The fresh capital will be used to scale operations and enhance technology solutions for Vietnam’s food supply chain, aiming to streamline logistics for restaurants, food businesses, and small enterprises.

Founded in 2018 by Taku Tanaka, former COO of Pizza 4P’s, Kamereo aims to become Vietnam’s leading B2B food distribution platform. With experience scaling Pizza 4P’s from a single restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City to a nationwide chain of 10 locations, Taku recognized inefficiencies in food supply chains, particularly in sourcing and order management. This inspired him to create Kamereo to address these challenges.

Kamereo’s centralized management and distribution platform enables chefs and restaurant owners to focus on their core expertise of cooking and serving customers. By streamlining supplier negotiations, order processing, and inventory management, the platform provides a one-stop solution for food businesses.

Kamereo now serves over 2,500 regular customers, including supermarkets, schools, hospitals, and restaurants, with operations spanning Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Da Lat. Supported by a 100-strong delivery team, the startup ensures top-tier service for its partners.

Beyond large enterprises, Kamereo is also targeting smaller businesses by offering an intuitive and user-friendly app for seamless order placement. Available on both the App Store and Google Play, the platform has seen continual upgrades to improve user experience and service quality.

Founder Taku Tanaka highlights the transformative potential of technology in Vietnam’s restaurant industry. Traditionally reliant on manual sourcing and procurement processes, the sector can benefit from automation, reducing labor costs while enhancing transparency and efficiency.

Kamereo addresses a critical gap in Vietnam’s market, where no single platform or app currently connects restaurants with suppliers in a seamless manner. Both sides are constantly seeking reliable partners, and Kamereo’s technology-driven approach bridges this divide.

As Kamereo continues to expand its reach and refine its technology, the startup is poised to play a key role in modernizing Vietnam’s food supply chains, setting a benchmark for efficiency and innovation in the region.
